Electrostatic flocking is a process in which rod-shaped short fiber fluff is charged on an electrode in an electric field due to the electrostatic effect, and then moves to the corresponding electrode. Due to the dipole characteristic, the fluff of the electrostatic flocking device is arranged in a row in the direction of the power line, perpendicular to the surface of the corresponding substrate, and bonded and fixed with adhesive.
Electric flocking is divided into alternating current electrostatic flocking and direct current electrostatic flocking.

Electrostatic flocking with alternating current: When the flocking wool falls from the feeder and passes through the high-voltage electrode set above the substrate, it receives an electric charge, causing the movement of the wool to generate an impact force. The effect of high-voltage electricity can make the wool neatly arranged. Because the frequency of the current supplied by the power supply changes in both directions, the kinetic energy given by the alternating current is relatively small in the direction of the adhesive substrate.
Direct current electrostatic flocking: An automatic electrostatic flocking machine is installed above a roller for feeding materials and a device to prevent fluff from "bridging". The storage device is placed on the floor of the interlayer, and these devices of the storage device are connected to the axle of the fluff feeder with non-conductive materials, which can be manually operated. It is equipped with a timer or photovoltaic cell to control the height of fluff accumulation.

The portable electrostatic flocking machine has the characteristics of small size, flexibility, and simplicity, so it can perform three-dimensional flocking on three-dimensional objects. The electrostatic flocking machine can move freely according to the position of the flocking picture. If children's toys are made using molds to produce plastic puppies, kittens, etc., in order to put them on plush coats, they can be coated with glue on the plastic dog surface and then undergo three-dimensional flocking.
Electrostatic flocking is no longer just a single flocking process, but is integrated with various other production techniques. In terms of development methods, composite skills and inductive techniques are used to break through traditional thinking forms, learn and transplant some other professional process methods, and carry out it comprehensively and from multiple angles.
